Chapter Service & Philanthropy
The CASA Carnival is Alpha Rho's fall philanthropy event. The event consists of a park full of carnival games put on a hosted by the women of Theta. It is open to the public and the KAT's in the kitchen also prepare funnel cakes and the fixings for all to enjoy. Our CASA Carnival provides great fun for the whole family while giving back to the kids!
KatWalk is Alpha Rho's spring philanthropy event. The event consists of a fashion show of clothes and accessories sponsored by local boutiques. The event also includes food and a silent auction. At the end of the fashion show, the KAT's host a friendly male model competition.
Alpha Rho Theta's are known for their contributions to service throughout the community. Thetas are involved in several volunteer organizations including: SERVE, Colleges Against Cancer, Habitat for Humanity, AWOL, SESDAC, the Salvation Army, and several others.
A Message from our Service Director:
A vital aspect of Kappa Alpha Theta’s thriving legacy is our dedication to service. As leading women, we identify the importance in not only academics, but involvement on campus and in the surrounding community. Over the years, this dedication has become a huge component of the identity of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Members of Kappa Alpha Theta are involved, as well as leaders, in Adopt-A-Grandparent; Big Pal, Lil Pal; Dakotathon; Colleges Against Cancer; and many more. Last year’s Theta Day of Service was spent at the Welcome Table serving nutritious meals to hungry citizens of the Vermillion area. Through the various volunteer and service organizations these leading women are involved in, each member averages over 30 service hours.
If you have any questions about our chapter’s philanthropy, fundraising events, or have service/volunteer opportunities for our members, please contact Amanda Schwartz at Amanda.Schwartz@coyotes.usd.edu
