Kappa Alpha Theta

Alpha Rho Chapter University of South Dakota

Executive Team

Taylor Gubbrud

Chief Executive Officer

A Letter From the President:  Hello and welcome to the Alpha Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of South Dakota. My name is Taylor Gubbrud and I am thrilled to be the Chief Executive Officer in this chapter of brilliant, talented and driven leading women. The Alpha Rho chapter has thrived on USD’s campus for more than one hundred years and I am proud to be part of such a remarkable legacy. Here at Kappa Alpha Theta, we are guided by our Fraternity’s four points of the kite—personal excellence, leadership potential, commitment to service, and intellectual curiosity. We pride ourselves on our high academic performance at the University and have achieved the top GPA on campus for 46 of the last 49 semesters. You may find Alpha Rho Thetas serving on Student Government, planning the University’s next Dance Marathon, cheering on our athletic teams, or reporting for Coyote News. We have traveled the world through study abroad programs and mission trips, expanded our knowledge through research opportunities, and created meaningful connections with business leaders through internships across the nation. Finally, our chapter demonstrates a strong commitment to service by supporting our national philanthropy Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that provides support for children in the court system through no fault of their own, in fundraising events each semester. Aside from this, we work to better our surrounding community through organizations like Big Pal, Little Pal and Adopt-A-Grandparent. Kappa Alpha Theta has brightened my life so much in such a short amount of time and has helped shape me into the woman I am today. I am humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to lead such an exceptional group of women as President in 2017. Beyond my college years, I am certain that the friendships I have made will endure. After all, Theta is for a lifetime. Loyally, Taylor Gubbrud
